Tutoring
We offer free tutoring to students who need a little extra academic support.
As homework becomes more challenging, students often find themselves with limited time in the day. At Just One, we aim to bridge this gap by providing a positive and engaging connection between students and tutors.
Our goal is to make your child’s experience with our tutors as enjoyable as possible. Here’s how we will try to achieve that:
- Personalized Learning: We tailor our tutoring sessions to your child’s specific learning style.
- Interactive Lessons: We use hands-on activities, and discussions, to keep students engaged and interested in the subject matter.
- Regular Feedback: We provide constructive feedback to help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement, boosting their confidence.
- Setting Achievable Goals: We work with students to set academic goals and track their progress, celebrating their achievements along the way.
- Encouraging Questions: We create an open and non-judgmental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
- Peer Tutoring: We may also offer peer tutoring, where older students or peers assist younger ones, creating a supportive and relatable learning environment.
- Flexibility: We understand that each student has a unique schedule and learning pace, so we are flexible with tutoring hours and adapt to their needs whenever possible.
By implementing these strategies, we aim to create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters a love for learning in the students we assist. This positive experience encourages them to continue seeking academic homework support and excel in their studies.
To Register below keep in mind.
We are here to assist students with their homework needs. Currently, we are offering support to students aged 10 and older.
As you consider applying for our free tutoring, we want to emphasize that If You Could Save “Just One” was specifically designed to provide for families facing day-to-day challenges. Our program is dedicated to supporting at-risk youth, aiming to make life brighter for those navigating difficult circumstances.
Here are the specific details for our program:
- Class/Subject: Our tutors cover a variety of classes and subjects. Whether it’s math, science, language arts, or any other subject, we will do our best to accommodate.
- Grade Levels: We cater to students 5th grade to 12th grade.
- Location: We offer multiple options for tutoring sessions:
- Virtual Classes: We conduct classes over Zoom for those who prefer online learning.
- In-Person: Students can come to our Just One facility for face-to-face tutoring.
- Local Libraries: We also offer sessions at local libraries for your convenience.
- Registration: Currently, we are operating on a waiting list. Once you register, you’ll be placed on this list until either a tutor becomes available or we secure additional funding, as our tutoring services are based on grant support. Our previous two-year tutoring grant ended in March 2024, but rest assured, we are actively pursuing new funding and will advertise opportunities as soon as they are available. However, those on the waiting list will be the first to be contacted.
