We know that positive, caring connections with peers and adults can change the direction of young person’s life. Connection can keep kids and teens safe, engaged, less likely to use drugs or alcohol and more likely to complete school.
Here a few of our services Just One has to offer at no cost
- March, April, May: Our after-school program runs Monday through Friday, from 3 PM to 6 PM. During this time, our dedicated staff are onsite to plan and facilitate fun, engaging activities or simply provide a space for kids aged 10 and up to unwind and connect with peers.Important: Parents must create a parent account and add each youth participating in the program. This ensures we have all the necessary information, including emergency contacts, food allergies, and phone numbers. Having this information allows us to keep you informed about upcoming activities, like field trips, special events, or any changes to the schedule.
- June: We take a brief pause to gear up for our summer programming.
- July and August: Summer programs typically run three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 12 PM to 3 PM). However, if funding is limited, we’ll operate on Mondays and Fridays only. Please note that there will be no after-school programs during the summer unless additional funding is secured. If funding becomes available, we will notify you promptly with updates.
- September: We take a short break as we transition into fall activities.
- October: After-school programs return Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 6 PM, with a fun Halloween theme. October is an exciting time as our youth help prepare for the annual Haunted House fundraiser!
- November: Our Thanksgiving "Projects in a Bag" initiative brings STEAM-based activities and a family meal right to your doorstep.(Limited zip codes) Registration opens at the beginning of November, with deliveries just days before Thanksgiving.
- December: The year ends with our Christmas gift giveaway! Parents can register at the start of December to receive gifts for their youth. (Pick-up event in 99207) Just One members get first priority before we open registration to the public, ensuring we meet the needs of our community.
To meet the growing demand for our free programs, we sometimes limit advertising through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or school portals until we confirm capacity.
Your support in spreading the word about our mission is invaluable and helps ensure we can continue offering these FREE resources. |
